Jonathan
Wallett MGCP PGA
Elite
Performance Coach |
 |
Jon is a certified and qualified
Sport Psychology expert, and a member
of the British and Swiss PGA. He
has directed golf academies in the
UK, Switzerland and Australia, and
taught or lectured golf in Japan,
Australia, UK and Switzerland.
Jon has written teaching articles
for different golfing publications
and has been the author to a host
of different videos, DVDs, coaching
workbooks and mental training CDs.
Jon was formerly coached by one
of the world's leading coaches,
Denis Pugh, from 1992 to 1997, and
attributes many of his teaching
theories learnt from this outstanding
coach.
Jon says "A lot of young
players have talent and the possibility
to be a champion. But often this
talent is like a diamond that's
inside a mine - it lies deep within,
so the skill of the teacher is to
be able to mine this diamond of
genius or talent and then constantly
refine and polish it so eventually
it becomes the finished article".
He adds "Our main job
as coaches is to improve performance.
At our disposal we use a whole host
of tools and therapies, and do not
employ a one angled approach - we
adjust our coaching to our students,
not ask our students to adjust to
us".
