SUMMER 2007 - INDIVIDUAL Program

If a 16 or 18 year old student wanted to study Mathematics, it would be foolish you to say to him, "Go to the library when you feel like it and learn for yourself". The student would have a teacher, and a structured learning timetable together with a syllabus of what needs to be learnt. And then this learning schedule would be controlled by the teacher and the student encouraged and aided by the teacher where necessary. We take exactly the same view in golf - learning is a partnership between the student and the teacher, but youngsters need a very clear and concise map, and need to be regularly motivated and encouraged. Youngsters are often very ambitious and have the desire to achieve a goal, but have yet to develop the self discipline to carry out the necessary steps to achieve the goal, and that is where a concise, stimulating practice plan controlled by the teacher becomes very effective.

Our coaching and our students' practice programs encompass the technical, mental and management areas of the game. Especially effective is the mental training, an area which elite golfers' often recognize as an important area of the game, but have not yet been schooled how to develop their mental skills.

How it works

STEP 1 - The student enrolls on a course or alternatively arranges a private session with Jon.

STEP 2 - The student will be given a detailed questionnaire and then Jon will make an assessment, and together with the student agree a practice program, in each area of the game - both technical, mental and management.

STEP 3 - Each week/month the student will receive a personalized practice program, with "units" to complete. Then the student emails the results of the program and the units completed to Jon or one of his staff. All this data is kept on that particular students file at the Academy and monitored

STEP 4 - The student periodically meets with Jon so the pupil's learning can be aided and developed

Bob Rotella, golf's most famous Psychologist, once said -

"People learn best from teachers who enjoy teaching."

We love teaching, and have spent our whole careers studying the game of golf, and how to teach it. We love it, and we love teaching people who want to learn! Is that you?
